We separate stable travel advice from time-sensitive facts. Stable advice can come from repeated on-the-ground experience; time-sensitive facts require official or clearly dated sources.

• Medical, emergency and legal information
• Ticket booking windows and transport changes

Primary sources we use

• China National Immigration Administration for entry, visa-free and transit rules.
• Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China for official consular information.
• China Railway 12306 for rail booking information.

When in doubt, we write cautiously, date the claim where possible, and tell travelers to verify with the official channel before booking.
